Care System Designation: The primary care clinic a member chooses determines his/her care system.
Referral Process: Medica Essential members can see any provider within their care system without a referral. Some Medica Elect care systems require a referral to see a specialist within the care system. Members should check referral requirements with their specific care system. In order to receive care from a provider outside the care system, both Medica Elect and Medica Essential members must receive a referral from their primary care clinic.
